Bug Description

This issue does not occur right away, and I don't know what reliably triggers it every time. But after running GNOME Shell for a while, windows will no longer show on the correct workspaces, but instead all seem to like showing on the same one at full size. See attached screenshots for examples.

Additional notes:

- The pop-up buttons for closing windows in the Activities view also stop showing.

- Any of the windows shown can be switched to by clicking them as usual. If the window clicked is actually on another workspace, it still does the workspace switch while returning to the normal view.

- The problem goes away upon reboot until it occurs again.

Another workaround is just to use Alt+F2 (if enabled first) and typing 'r' to restart the Shell. This seems to reset everything temporarily.

This was actually determined to be a gconf problem so I'm marking this as a duplicate of bug 848198. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug.
