I know this isn't a complete backtrace because I see lots of ?? in there, but I have no idea what -dbg packages to install besides the rhythmbox one because the script that is supposed to retrieve this info doesn't return anything and the program crashes on startup so I can't use the script that retrieves the dependencies while the program is running.

It's probably this bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=661957
Note: If it's not that bug, please remove the bug watch for it.

You can manually disable the magnatune plugin with dconf-editor

sudo apt-get install dconf-tools
dconf-editor

Now, navigate to /org/gnome/rhythmbox/plugins and remove magnatune from the list of active plugins.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
