icons duplicated in 11.10 launcher

did a clean install of 11.10 from 10.04. several icons were duplicated in the launcher. specifically the libreoffice apps and firefox, plus icons of f-spot and other programs from 10.04 were carried over. i don't use f-spot and have it uninstalled.

did a clean install again and the same thing happens.

1).is this bug reproduce able?
2).if so than provide the steps to reproduce it .
also attach a screenshot of the bug.

there are a few people who had this problem. their posting on launchpad should have been linked to this problem.

I am not sure what you are referring to here, are you using your old /home directory?
Otherwise the problem could not possibly happen if you are doing a "real" clean install.

Here is a screenshot of this bug in action (if I am understanding the bug correctly). The screenshot shows it duplicating my Terminator icons but it sometimes duplicates Chrome as well. I haven't yet figured out when/why this occurs or exactly how to reproduce it. In fact, up until now I've only seen it affect Chrome, this is the first time I've seen it with Terminator.

One thing I'll not is that both app icons I've seen duped (Chrome and Terminator) were pinned to the launcher. I have yet to see it happen with an unpinned launcher icon.
