Only top file loaded in menu 'Open Recent'

Bug Description

No matter which file I select from File -> Open Recent, always the top one (the first from above) is loaded. This happens only in Ubuntu Unity's global menu (and only in Inkscape). When I run Inkscape using Gnome 2.8 (with the traditional menu) the problem does not occur

Linking as duplicate to Bug #752674 “GtkRecentChooserMenu always selects first entry”. Please add a comment here and revert the duplicate status if you don't agree and think these are different issues.
