Cheese crashes on launch

Bug Description

The problem is reproducible with the Ipevo webcam but not my Logitech 910 webcam.

On launching the Cheese window opens. The spinning lines appear against a black screen (left - main window) for about 1 second.

Then the window disappears and the application ends.
