Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

This is not as much a bug as it is a need for clarification. In Synaptic, under automatic updates, the check box options have now become radio buttons, but the options are seemingly comparing apples and oranges, namely, "install security updates without confirmation," "download all updates in the background," and "only notify about available updates." What if I want to select the first two options? With previous versions, I was able to check either or both options, but in Herd 4, I am resigned to one or the other, not both. I'm guessing what is now labeled "Download all updates in the background" is replacing "Download all updates in the background, but don't install them." I appreciate the great distribution, keep up the great work!

You are right the wording could be better. It is not clear that the upper option includes the the lower one:

- notify, download all updates, install sec updates
- notify, download all
- notify
