Bug Description

hello,

[using latest code]

while installing the openerp-web addons (actually copying them into a folder, as the setup.py install does not seen to work) I received the advice to add the additional folder path to the addons-path parameter in the server config. That works great, now the server start with web ...

However, I noticed that in the GTK, now I have the 10 additional modules listed. I find it at least confusing, as they are NOT to be updated, installed, this way.

I suggest we should have a filter, a different parameter for the web addons, or why not to make them work from inside the server addons folder or from an egg...

Thank you!
Bogdan

Hello Bogdan,

I have checked your issue with updated trunk with following server configuration.

./openerp-server --addons=../openobject-addons/,../new_openerp-web/addons

It is working fine. Would you please tray again and informed us where you faced the problem and give the module

list which is not installed , updated at your end.

Thanks and waiting for your reply.

Hello Vishal,

I think I was not clear... It does work, both the GTK and the web server.

What I said is that the list of "web" modules present in the list of
regular addons (modules) is confusing (please see attachment). It is
also confusing to have the whole branch "openerp-web" if all we need is
to copy the "web" addons into some place and reference it.

I would say it is not a bug, but a "nice to have"

thank you,
Bogdan

Hello Bogdan,

Yes, I agree with you

When you start server from terminal you can give the more then one path/ Parameter. if you give the web addons path in server parameter as
 ./openerp-server --addons=../openobject-addons/,../new_openerp-web/addons/

after that update the module list then you can see the web-addons module in regular addons module list.

I hope this will be help full.

Thanks and waiting for your reply.

hello,

Yes indeed, this is what I tried to convey.

And what I was saying, is that in my opinion it is NOT a good thing to
have the 'web' modules there, as they are not regular modules, like
'account' or 'sales'. There is no point to have them there, unless there
is one, which I cannot see :-)

thank you,
b

Hello,

As per my opinion, If you give web addons path(As per #3) when start sever then it's show web-addons module in regular addons. It needed changes regarding the improvement what you suggested in bug specification.
currently I can consider this issue as opinion because this needs more clarification.
