Bug Description

"Upgraded"to 11.10

One of the many joys is that headphones and external microphone no longer work.

Sound settings reports they are plugged in but nothing is played out of the them. External speakers and microphone work (just)

I found a work a round. Go to Sound settings>hardware>profile change from Analogue Stereo Duplex input to Anolgue input and back again to Analguoe Stereo Duplex and now it works until headphones unplugged and plugged back in. not tested whether this solves microphone problem.
