Bug Description

I got a new iPhone 4S with iOS5 on it. I connectet it to Natty (with libimobiledevice2 1.1.0) and to Oneric (with libimobiledevice2 1.1.1). On both Ubuntu-Boxes the device gets recognized as it should and the phone shows up in Banshee and in Rhythmbox. I even could drag and drop music on the device, but "synchronizing"is not shown on the iPhone and so the msuic-App stays empty.

Did I do something wrong? On Natty I deleted ~/.config/libimobiledevice, but that did not help. :-( Any suggestions?

Today I am experiencing the folling error-message in Rhythmbox:

---
Error while transfering the title

Error while getting peer-to-peer dbus connection:
The name :1.234 was not provided by any .service files
---

and in addition to that the iPhone dis- and reconnects after ~10 seconds.

I'm using a Ubuntu 11.04 with Version '1.1.0-3ubuntu1' of libimobiledice2 while getting this errors.

Hi I am having the same problems with my iphone 4s with ios 5 and not being able to usb sync music in banshee or rhythmbox. I have libimobiledevice 1.1.1 installed in synaptic and still can't sync music. I am doing something wrong? Or did you ever figure out a way to get your device synced?

I can confirm the same problem with a 3GS running iOS 5.
Device mounts properly and displays in Nautilus and Rhythmbox. Transferring files to device does not appear to actually update the device database. This is apparently an upstream problem; libimobiledevice.org suggests that this is a known limitation of the library. See the following comment:
"14.10.2011: iOS 5 music sync has a lot of changes. Linux users who want to sponsor the required implementations feel free to donate."
