Bug Description

The process of retrieval of the installed applications when you click on "See X more apps" should be made asynchronously. Right now when you click on said "button" you have to wait for the dash to browse all your installed applications for it to show anything.

(maybe I shouldn't have made this a bug... but it's too late now...) The thing is that when you go to the "Unity Dash -> More Apps -> Show X more apps" the dash takes a while before it displays any of the other apps available in the system, and that is due (I think) to it first searching for every installed application and then after it gets all that information the dash displays all the icons at once. I suggest that the implementation be changed so that as soon as the dash knows a certain app is installed it shows the icon right away. Am I making myself clear enough? (english is not my native language). Thanks.

Thank you for your bug report, what sort of configuration do you have and how long does it take to display installed softwares? what would you want to access while those are loading?

If you take a look at Unity 2D what I'm suggesting is already implemented there, you click on show more apps and the icons start popping, right now (depending on the amount of apps installed) it takes around 4 seconds to show up the first time.
It was the same thing with the wallpaper chooser in gnome 2, if you had many wallpapers installed and you wanted to change the wallpaper you had to wait for the application to fetch every wallpaper you had, now with gnome 3 the wallpaper chooser immediatly starts showing you the wallpapers it's fetching and so it feels snappier and you don't have to wait for every wallpaper to be discovered to be able to change it, if you see the one you were looking for pop up you just click on it and you have it changed.
What do you mean with what's my configuration?

Thanks.
