Bug Description

Binary package hint: apt

when I mark apt 0.6.46.4ubuntu7 for upgrade to version 0.6.46.4ubuntu8 packages like ubuntu-minimal and kubuntu-desktop are marked to be removed. Also all adept packages and synaptic are marked to be removed.
I don't think it is a good idea to remove these basic packages or do I miss something?

I confirm this bug.
adept-installer and some others adept packages depends on libapt-pkg-libc6.4-6-3.52 which is a virtual package, but apt 0.6.46.4ubuntu8 provided libapt-pkg-libc6.4-6-3.53, so there's broken dependencies.
I didn't mark this bug as confirmed because this issue should be solved with further upgrades.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
adept-batch: Depends: libapt-pkg-libc6.4-6-3.52 but it is not installable
adept-installer: Depends: adept-common but it is not going to be installed

Same here

apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
requires adept, requires adept-*, requires libapt-pkg-libc6.4-6-3.52.

libapt-pkg-libc6.4-6-3.53 is installed by apt
