Bug Description

In oneric, it is possible to disable the ubuntu startup sound in the "Startup applications" menu (cf bug #840858). I think most users expect instead to find this setting in the sound menu of the system settings panel, and I suggest to add there the option to disable it as well.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I just submitted a comment to the other bug, which mentions the guest session feature in a 'login in sound context'.

Possibly someone wants to take that aspect into consideration as well.

Thank you for your bug report, the startup application was a workaround to give a way to do this for users, it's not meant to be the way it will stay, we will add a checkbox to the sound capplet this cycle, closing since that's a duplicate
