Bug Description

If a window is first maximised and then tiled so that its upper edge touches the global menu (Ctrl-Alt-KP_4 to Ctrl-Alt-KP_9), it leaves the window without its titlebar and window buttons, which do not appear next to the global menu. Pressing the keybinding the second time restores the window with its titlebar.

In Oneiric (amd64) with Unity/the Global Menu, the bug occurs on performing the following steps:
1. Maximise a window, e.g. by pressing Ctrl-Alt-KP_0.
2. Tile this window by pressing one of the key bindings Ctrl-Alt-KP_{4,5,6,7,8,9}.
---> The window is unmaximised and tiled, but its titlebar has not reappeared.
3. Press the binding from step 2 again.
---> The window is tiled to the same space as after step 2, but its titlebar is restored. However this is what should happen right after step 2, so that unmaximising and tiling the window only takes entering the binding once and repeating it cycles through different window sizes.

Thanks for the bug report. Is that still an issue for you Ubuntu 12.04 with all updates applied? Can you please test that and let us know?

Yes, it's still there in Precise. Again, the window is correctly unmaximised on pressing the binding the second time.
