Bug Description

When running Unity (ubuntu 10.11) on dual screen setup with nvidia cards, all transparency effects show the contents of the primary screen instead of the contents below the transparent element.

I could reproduce it on two machines with nvidia geforce 8 series cards.

This applies to all transparency effects. Opacity < 100 when moving windows, Window shadows, titlebars, terminal - all with the same effect.

thank you for your bug report, that seems an nvidia driver issue rather than an unity bug

Hi,

I doubt that this is nvidia driver issue. Some elements are working correctly (i.E. all Notifications). In my setup they're displayed on the second screen where the transparency issue occurs for almost all elements.

I'll attach a Screenshot illustrating the terminal with the broken transparency and the notification with correct transparency on the second screen.

So i assume the issue might be Compiz related. There are some other glitches that could be related
i.E. the Terminal stays transparent even if I change the settings not to use transparency at all.

This was fixed with the latest unity update. Transparency now works as expected.
It was indeet a unity issue.
