Bug Description

After upgrading to 11.10 typing the login password doesn't register the keyboard entries. I can enter Ubuntu as a guest only. I also have only one screen resolution available. And the computer will not shut down.

Right clicking on the login box causes a screen refresh rather than adding a blinking cursor only in my normal login screen.

I was able to log on as another user and solved the screen resolution problem by downloading and installing new drivers. Still cannot log in using my profile.

Running the following command in bash:
sudo rm ~/.Xauthority
