Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-live

When in the livecd install for Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn beta (Herd 4) I tried to use the guided resize to partition the free space on my external 250gb hd. When doing so, i got this message:

Resize Operation Failed
Gudied - resize SCSI3 (0,0,0), partition #1 (sdb) and use freed space. (On 50% of 250gb external [115.3GB])
An error occurred while writing the changes to the storage devices. The resize operation is aborted.

I dont know if it is something to do with my external or with the feature. Please check out.

I'm using a Beyond Micro Mobil Disk External HD (250gb) on a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4054.

This is probably either bug 94647 or bug 95400, and should be fixed in current daily builds.

Actually, no, it's too early for either of those, although it could be something else. Could you please try with an image from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and let me know whether you can still reproduce this bug? If you can, please attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman, following the instructions in http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs.
