Bug Description

In Xubuntu moving the Terminal-Window around is extremely slow and uses up all CPU-Performance. It also opens very slowly. When the window is maximized it is so slow that working with the terminal is impossible.

Xubuntu's default terminal emulator performs like a DOS window in Windows 3 on a 286. You can see the individual lines being refreshed from top to bottom when scrolling. And when dragging the window around, the repaints are much slower and jerkier than for any other app I've tried. xterm is far faster.
