Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde-systemsettings

When adding smb-share from disk & filesystems in kde-systemsettings, disk & filesystems crashes when pressed button "scan".

Thank you for filing this bug.
Can you try running it with "mountconfig" from the command line and post the output when it crashes?

Mountconfig won't crash if smb-share is offline. Then it displays correct error message.

The application collapses (here) at the line:

        self.exec_loop()

in the choose(self,currenturl) method
of the SMBShareSelectDialog(KDialogBase) class
located in the SMBShareSelectDialog.py file.

In Gutsy get an error when trying to add a SMB-Share; however, when running systemsettings or mountconfig from the command line I get the error below; not sure if this is the same problem as the one reported above?

confirmed here with Gutsy and latest updates as of today. Will try with HardyHeron...

btw is there any reason the dialog is hidden in the expert settings? On Windows, this functionality is available right via right-click-menu from the desktop...(!)
In Kubuntu, you only can mount NFS-shares via shortcut-menu, but no SMB/CIFS-shares.

Is this bug present in a Kubuntu release greater than Gutsy? Gutsy and Feisty have both ended their supported life.
