I have checked this issue, I think you might be some misunderstood.

Let me Explain :

Once the pricelist is defined you have to link at least one version. A single pricelist can exist in several versions,

only one of which is permitted to be active at a given time.

Start Date and End Date of this version, The fields are optional : if you do not set any dates in the version

then it will be permanently active. Only one version may be active at any one point. Use the Active field in the

versions to activate or disable a pricelist version.

When a version is duplicated it is set to non active, so that the dates do not overlaps with original version. You

should change the dates and reactivate the pricelist.

The problem is not the active checkbox getting de-activated, thats normal. The issue is that when saving a de-activated pricelist version, nothing happens. Which is increadibly annoying since duplication will always start de-activated, so its easy to overlook.

I opened a pricelist, clicked duplicate, didn't notice it wasn't active, saved it and nothing happened. Thats the main problem, not the fact its disabled, thats normal. But its easy to overlook.

I opened a pricelist, clicked duplicate, didn't notice it wasn't active, saved it and nothing happened. Take note that I didn't notice that the active checkbox wasn't active.

My suggestion is to make it checked by default then just let the system raise an error. It's more of a UX or user experience issue.
