unity-panel-service eats 100% CPU

unity-panel-service hangs under some (not still sure what) circumstances, making it impossible to work with any application in X. It happens sometimes when I click on connections menu or messaging menu.

I've attached a system call trace.

I'm able to reproduce #865601. I'd prefer to say this is the same bug, so I'm marking this as a duplicate.
