No way to return to the contact list

After updating to Ubuntu 11.10 and starting to use Gnome Shell it is not possible any more to switch back to the contact list when you have a conversation window open (IRC) and closed the contact list.

Steps to reproduce:
- Open the contact list
- Start a new (IRC) conversation
- Close the contact list, leaving the conversation open

If you view the activities, no contact list window is displayed. If you click the Empathy icon in the vertical list, only the conversation window gets focus. No contact list is displayed and there is no way to get it back unless you close the conversation window first.

You can try to run the application. I think that it will not disconnect and it will open the contact list.
