Unity launcher gets "stuck" underneath other applications

I've had a few instances where this happened. When an application is full screen, touching the left side won't open the launcher. If I unmaximize it and just move it partially over, I can see that unity is stuck "underneath" this application. It's happened with Chrome, Terminal, and Thunderbird.

I also have this problem, most notably with Firefox. I had it in 11.04 too, and it is still here in a vanilla 11.10 install. I read somewhere that it could be solved by opening nautilus and drag an icon over unity, which works, but is fairly unintuitive. :) Would be happy if this problem got solved. I use the nvidia graphics driver.
