Both wubu and ISO versions hang on boot on HP Pavilion dm4 2070us laptop

Bug Description

Ubuntu 11.10 announcement day release, downloaded from ubuntu.com. Works on other machines, but not noted laptop.
3. I expected the boot to complete, and or WUBU to work. Neither happened.
4. Infinite hang when Ubuntu in middle of purple screen comes up.

I have a dm4 2070us and I had to increase my brightness (F3) because the default brightness was so low that you could not see _anything_.

Have you tried to boot your machine with some kernel options? you should look for information to debug your issue at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelBoot
