Bug Description
Go to the top right workspace (unity).
Open Libreoffice writer (new document). Unmaximize it if the window is fullscreen. Now drag the title bar to the right hand side of the workspace. This should make it occupy half the screen.
Now go to the top left workspace. Click on the writer icon in the launcher. The writer window is brought to the foreground in the top left workspace instead of the window being show in the top right workspace.
Ubuntu 11.10 64bits
libreoffice-writer Installed: 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2

This seems to happen with other applications as well: terminal, evince, for instance. Reproduces most of the time. I am wondering if this isn't the same as bug #876637
