The bluetooth implementation on the LGP505R seems to be inconsistent with the rest of the handsets we have tested. Specifically, one of the connection methods always hangs without warning or error messages. I will try to skip this connection method only on this handset using the android.os.Build constants but another issue will remain: if the app is killed by the system (e.g., during an upgrade), the bluetooth socket is not recycled as in the rest of the devices we have tested. Thus, the shield will remain connected but will not be accessible to the app, forcing users to cycle power on the Shield or the handset before a connection can be established.
We should consider eliminating this handset from the list of compatible devices on the Android Market.
