Bug Description

No KDE application is suffering this issue.
I've set up the GTK+ engine for KDE to use QtCurve as well.
I've also tried KDE both v4.7.1 and v4.7.2 and a few different styles.
Libreoffice is the only application with such a behavior. Mozilla Firefox v7.0.1 and aMule are working fine.

The tooltip text is always black. For some reason, the default tooltip background colour is also black, which results in black text on a black background. You can change this by going to

System Settings > Application Appearance > Colours > Colours

If you change the background colour to something bright, you will be able to read the black text.

Presumably this needs to be fixed in the KDE defaults.

This bug affects me also. Changing the tooltip background from the default black solved the problem.

Affects me also. Changing the Tooltip Background color in System Settings > Application Appearance > Colours > Colours to something other than Black (a "lighter" color) works. What one cannot change however, is the color of the text - changing Tooltip Text to any other color has no effect on LibreOffice.

Ditto with above comment.

Have an addition to my previous comment...

Yeah, it worked for Openoffice, however, it also changes all the tool tip colors throughout KDE.

So, for example, if I change the tool tip background to, say white, then every tool tip in KDE is white which looks really bad; especially if you hover over icons in ksystemsettings and get a huge white block with black chars... Really terrible to look at.

Anyway to change the setting just for Openoffice?

Thanks!
Joe

The bug is in the libreoffice-kde i guess. LibreOffice does not use the KDE color setting for the hinttext but only for the background
