Bug Description

This extension seems to crash thunderbird 7.0 under Ocelot (Ubuntu 11.10 ) when a new window needs to be opened (e.g. reply / reply all /etc).
Disabling the extension fixes the crashes.

Thanks, but this is of absolutely no use without a stacktrace. How did you come to the conclusion that you did? And what is the crash ID of the crash report you submitted to Mozilla?

status: New → Incomplete

Not sure what you call a stacktrace. Running Thunderbird in a terminal gives :
(thunderbird-bin:11443): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type `DbusmenuServer'
(thunderbird-bin:11443): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed
(thunderbird-bin:11443): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new: assertion `G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed

Thunderbird freezes and doesn't give access to a the automatic Mozilla report.
Running in safe mode worked fine.
Activating extensions one by one and then two by two pointed out an incompatibility between this unity extension and the "messaging menu integration 0.6"

This is most likely because you have an older version of one of those extensions installed in your profile. Please run "apport-collect 876398"

Yep, you have an ancient version of the messagingmenu-extension installed in your user profile, which is loading obsolete libs. Please remove that in the addons manager and it will work fine afterwards
