Bug Description

If you have gnome-terminal set to not show the menu bar, when a terminal window is opened, the menu bar shows anyway. Selecting and then deselecting the option will remove it.

This is not using Unity (using xmonad instead.)

Attached screenshot showing what I'm talking about.

Also, the value in UBUNTU_MENUPROXY makes no difference.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Try the workaround mentioned there (sudo apt-get purge appmenu-gtk appmenu-gtk3), logout and login again.
