Bug Description

Installed 11.10 on this Dell Vostro 3550. Jockey offered to install the proprietary FGLRX driver to give me 3d acceleration. I installed fglrx, restarted the system and tried, but still got 2d unity. Regardless of whether I selected Unity or Unity 2D in LightDM, I always get 2D Unity.

I then tried installing fglrx_updates from Jockey but that package fails to install completely.

Your system has hybrid graphics, so fglrx isn't going to work unless you disable the Intel GPU.
