Selected target media does not show when selected

The dropdown dialog that show the target media has only one option, my dvd burner, which is fine, but it only shows when the dropdown is open, once I select the item the control is still blank.

I can click burn and start the process but it appears as If I would be stuck since I can't get the target selection to show.
