Bug Description

After upgrading two 11.10, the graphical shutdown and restart options no longer work. From the Unity desktop, they'll simply kick me out into lightdm, and from lightdm they don't seem to do anything at all. This happens for me on both my laptops that I upgraded; one is a MacBook air, the other an older Toshiba Satellite.

Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10
Codename: oneiric

Likewise, upgrade from 11.04. However when selecting shutdown, it drops me to a login box. Selecting shutdown from there does nothing at all. Only solution is to log back in and shutdown from a sudo terminal session.

Tried unity --reset to re-build/re-install unity, but didn't make any difference.
