NotifyOSD fails to display correctly the touchpad's Fn-key state on Lenovo laptop

Bug Description
In the past when I press Fn+F8 to enable/disable the touchpad on a Lenovo laptop, NotifyOSD has always shown a popup describing the state being changed to. But since updating to 11.10, NotifyOSD fails to display this dialogue popup correctly.
Please look at the upper-right corner of the screenshot I'm uploading to see what NotifyOSD looks like after I Press Fn+F8.
