Bug Description

After update from Natty to Oneiric some sound distortions began to appear if sound volume is higher then ~75%. Although I don't have a very good ear of music and my sound speakers are old and cheap, so maybe these distortions appear at volumes less than 75% too. Also I'm not pretty sure whether it is exactly pulseaudio issue, however I've tested it on several players (Banshee and VLC) and got the same result, so it's definitly not an application specific issue.

Using Sound Preferences, does the volume appear beyond the Unamplified
region?

Yes, when volume is at Unamplified mark it is about 60% volume level in sound indicator, so 75% volume is beyond this mark.
