Bug Description
I have just upgraded Natty to Oneiric.
I run Unity-2D session due to video card limitation (but there's no difference if I run Unity).
Till login screen the desktop is shown correctly (mono icons in the top panel, etc.). When I log in:
- power-indicator and sound-indicator are missing;
- the top bar shows standard Gnome icons in grey background colour;
- several icons are missing in Unity launchers;
- desktop icons are corrupted.
- real standard theme is Gnome instead of Ambiance.
See attached screenshot.

I found the workaround here: http:// ubuntuforums. org/showpost. php?p=11314525& postcount= 8 daemon in my home folder and add it to my startup applications.
Then, to solve definitely at every login, I had to create a launcher to gnome-settings-
