Bug Description

Whenever I try to safely remove my Hard disk in Ubuntu 11.10 Then I encounter a black screen.
It tells system panic occured and then nothing is working anymore and I need to power down the machine and boot again.

I am getting the same error. The system just blackscreens and tells me the system panic occurred.

Sometimes this happens with Ubuntu 12.04, too. In about 10% of times when I click "Safely Remove Drive" (right-click context-menu in Nautilus), the screen goes black with kernel oops infos. - See attacked image.

bb, thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Oneiric reached EOL on May 9, 2013.

Seems ok for "Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS " - I tried "Safely Remove Drive" for 15 times, everything ok. (3.13.0-39-generic #66-Ubuntu SMP)
