can't see Empathy's contact list after logging in accounts

I've never used any Linux. I was a Windows user.

Today, I installed Ubuntu 11.10 but when I tried to use Empathy for talking to my contacts, after inserting all accounts that I wanted, now I can't see the list with the contacts.

There is no way to add a image of it because there isn't any message or action appearing. What happens is that the program closes by itself imediatelly when I try open it.

thank you for more info can you please enable the apport by using this command in the terminal
sudo service apport start force_start=1
and than try to reproduce it..its seems the crash so the apport automatically collect the information about it. and file a new bug please.
