Bug Description

When browsing the standard KDE icons in the Filesystems category, it seems to lag folder icons for a "Documents" folder.

Usually people have documents on their system contained in a folder. This folder is typically called "documents" or "My Documents" or similar. Thus it would be nice to have a standard system icon for this kind of folder in the Filesystems cateogory in KDE.

Steps to reproduce:
1: Right click on desktop > Create new > Link to location (URL)
2: File name: Documents
    Enter link to location: /home/foo/documents
    Press OK.
3: Right click on the created link > Properties.
4: Click the Icon-button.
5: Select: System icons; and select Filesystems in the drop down menu.
6: Observe that there is no suitable icon for a documents folder.

Don't you think the bug is serious?

I personally don't think it is serious, but it is something that would be nice. I use the icon 'folder-man' for my Documents folder I created, it is a blue open folder with white "paper" in it and it fits nicely in the way I have my folders set up, my photo folder for example is the blue icon with the camera. A doc icon specific to documents (a file cabinet or something?) might be nice, but I don't think this is a bug per se as the icon set looks pretty much like a stock KDE icon set

I agree that this is an issue, if not the most serious one though! I also think that tdn meant that HE (and not the bug) was serious, when he used that word.

As we do not have a documents folder by default, this is a wish and not a bug (although I can see your point very well).

Because we are working towards KDE4 now I doubt that this will be changed until then (with the new Oxygen set).

I agree. If it really "bugs" (hehe) you that much, DL a new icon set or
make one. Its simply cosmetic. Please try to keep launchpad just for
non-cosmetic issues. Thanks!

I would not go so far as to say that launchpad is not to be used for cosmetic issues. Any issues which are actual bugs, whether cosmetic or technical are certainly welcome. Wishes are welcome too - just don't get expect all wishes to be "fixed"

I am going to close this as it will not be fixed prior to the KDE release. This is what is considered a "Wishlist Bug." You were right in reporting it here, however with the Oxygen Icon Them in our future, that is when this will be implemented, and it will be implemented by KDE. Thanks for this report!

I think that this is more than just a cosmetic issue. Having one icon used for the document folder (and only that folder) is certainly better usability. It helps users navigate file selection dialogs, konqueror, dolphin, etc.
