Bug Description

I have just installed the new 12.0 Citrix client using the deb installer. However, it's impossible to start the application with Unity. I tried to find it with the different keywords, but nothing. I checked in the /usr/share/applications folder, and there is a launcher there. But it's a symbolic link ( pointing to /opt/Citrix/ICAClient/desktop/wfcmgr.desktop)

I think it should be fixed, because right now for a beginner, it's simply impossible to run this application.
I see that there are other launchers which are links. I don't know why the citrix one is not working though. Maybe it's not a problem with Unity.

try to logout and login again, that might fix it for you.

To logout and login didn't fix it.
I have reinstalled my Oneiric installation, keeping the same /home
But still the same, after installing Citrix by using the .deb, it didn't show up. Plus I had to manually give +x rights to the .desktop file, and manually install a file from the 32 bits libmotif library... Still a very poor installer & application from Citrix...

Do you have a link to the .deb file in question here?

As part of the big bug review for 16.04 LTS, I have tested this on 15.10 and the bug is still there.

I installed the "Receiver for Linux" from here: http://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-receiver/linux/receiver-for-linux-1321.html

The program still isn't discoverable in Unity. As a side note, looking in the /usr/share/applications directory in Nautilus shows the application and double clicking launches it, but it doesn't seem to be visible when listing the contents of the directory on the command line. I don't know why this would be.

Correction: The Citrix application appears in the Home lens, but not in the Applications lens.
