Can't load pictures from new Kodak Camera to Ubuntu

When I connected my new Kodak easy share camera to my new-to-me Dell computer--running Unbutu--it keeps refusing to allow the installer to run. It says :

 " Archive Manager
Error occurred while loading the archive
Command Line Output
End of central director signature not found..." etc.

I tried loading Kodak easy share software from it's website and I still get the same message. Can anyone help me?

Thank you for your bug report, what version of Ubuntu do you use? What is the reference of the Camera?

Hi Sebastian:
Sorry for the slow reply, my computer and the unbutu program are all messed
up. I got an Unbutu Update notice yesterday and clicked on it and it
downloaded stuff for hours-0-and then at the end said it was unsuccessful.
Now Unbutu works worse than ever! I keep getting a demand for a plugin in
order to view certain images on various websites. But when I click on the
upload it says I ave to do it manually. When I try to do that it takes me to
a list of my applications and asks where I want to put it--I HAVE NO IDEA!

Can you assist me? I also still don;t know why neither my old Vivitar camera
nor my new Kodak "Easy share" (hah!) camera will not upload to unbutu--or to
anywhere on my Dell computer. It's a 2001--maybe it is too old?
