Bug Description

MacBook early 2008 model, Intel® 965GM x86/MMX/SSE2
MacBook Pro 2011 model

Problem occurs with: Ubuntu 11.10
Does not occur with: Ubuntu 11.04, Ubuntu 10.10, Ubuntu 10.04, etc

1. Choose “Lock Screen”.
2. Wait for the backlight to turn off.
3. Press a key or touch a pointing device.
4. Press one of the brightness keys on the keyboard.
5. Enter your password at the unlock screen.
6. Press one of the brightness keys on the keyboard.

What happens:
3. The unlock screen appears, but it is almost invisible, because the backlight has not turned back on.
4. The backlight still does not turn on.
5. The backlight still does not turn on.
6. When you choose to increase/decrease the brightness, the backlight finally turns on.

What should happen:
3. The backlight turns on immediately.

This looks similar to bug 580225, except that that bug was occurring with Ubuntu 10.04, whereas this bug was not.

Same with me!

Backlight worked fine on my MacBook 2,1 in 11.04, but with 11.10 I've got the same behavior as described above.
