Bug Description

Since upgrading to onereic I am having the problem on my Dell Latitude E6410 that the display manager does not open. Also the boot process seems to have issues. It hangs a long time "waiting for network connection" (even though one is present, both wired and wifi).

Lightdm or gdm can be made to start manually by typing "sudo start lightdm" however this is a bit annoying.

Thank you for your bug report, that could be the issue described on bug #864174, what is in /etc/X11/default-display-manager on your installation?

Yep, changing /etc/X11/default-display-manager to include the full path to lightdm fixes the problem. I wonder why this way not corrected by my various attempts at pruging, dpkg-reconfigure-ing and reinstallating attempts to fix this?!
