Bug Description
I'm running the JACK audio connection kit and I want to use it as the sound server for my entire system as I have a firewire sound card that alsa/pulseaudio does not support. I've done this before under Kubuntu Karmic without problems - the Xine phonon backend detects the presence of the JACK server and permits me to select it as the output.
However under Onieric the GStreamer backend doesn't give me the option to use JACK at all so I can't get KDE to send any sound out of my sound card. Since it worked in Karmic this is a functional regression. It makes Kubuntu all but useless for serious audio work.
(I tried the alternative setup of using the pulseaudio JACK sink to route the sound, but it crashes every couple of minutes so it's no use at all. This has always been the case with the pulseaudio jack sink, so I don't think anything will change there)
PLEASE can the phonon Xine backend be reinstated until the GStreamer backend works properly?

phonon gstreamer lists Jack as output as long as the jack plugin is installed, which if I am not mistaken is in the bad-plugins package.
