Installer crashed in final stages of installation

Bug Description
I booted off of a daily live created using unetbootin. I set about installing ubuntu to the last remaning 40 gigs of free space on my laptop hdd, which i partitioned into sda5 & 6 for / and swap. During final phase of installation as the installer was downloading updates, installer crashed. I have no idea why.
