launcher intermittently fails to appear when a window is maximised and mouse strikes left edge of screen

Bug Description

I just booted up, started a Terminal and maximised it. I was unable to display the launcher by pushing the mouse cursor against the left edge of the screen, and had to hit the Super key to get it visible.

Opening another maximised window (Firefox) seemed to correct this, even when Alt+Tabbing back to the Terminal window.

This is not an isolated incident; it has been happening for at least a couple days with various maximised windows. I tend to notice it most when using a Terminal though because the only reason I'd be using the mouse is to switch tabs or try to launch something else.
