Bug Description

Thunderbird crashed while importing this dictionary from Mozilla:

http://downloads.mozdev.org/dictionaries/spell-es-ES.xpi

which you can find on the Mozilla site:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/dictionaries.html

and you can import via Tools > Extensions > Install by pasting the url of the dictionary on the Location given above. Downloading the dictionary and installing it manually doesn't make Thunderbird crash but it doesn't install the extension either.

Is this still an issue for you? We are trying to trying sort out the older Mozilla issues and would like to know if this still happens.

I can confirm this bug crashes when using the URL as the import source, however I think that is more of a GTK bug as I do not think the file picker window is designed to import from the internet, however the problem still persists if you download the file to the desktop and then try to install by hand.. Take a look at bug #103003 this states the problem more fully.

I am going to upload the crash report anyway..

Thanks, Alex.

Hi, your original report was against the edgy distribution. I was wondering if you are still experiencing this issue. edgy support is being end-of-lifed.

No, the bug was probably solved in one of the latest upgrades of
Thunderbird.

And I know about the end of support to Edgy, thanks.

Best,
Miguel
