Executables do not run in Windows 2000

Bug Description
I asked a similar question about the RC5, which I assume is now the final release. But as it is now up on the website, I will report it as a bug.
The executable files do not run on Windows 2000 SP4. They say "hugin.exe is not a valid Win32 application".

The current used compiler for the release produce only executable for WinXP and up.
So you could only try to compile Hugin with a compiler which supports Win 2000. But I don't know if the older compiler are capable to build a current Hugin.
Windows 2000 is not any more supported by Microsoft. So we don't try to maintain compatibility with such "old" systems.
