Bug Description

Whenever Ubuntu One is running it takes up about 90 to 100% of my CPU. This also makes that I can't use Banshee properly, as it starts Ubuntu One with it. This used to freeze my system on login as there are a few apps in my startup list that start with a heavy CPU load. I had to disable it on startup, but it's kinda starting to annoy me now. Ubuntu One is getting so close to being much better than Dropbox, but things like this keep cropping up in it.

Here's some information I got using ubuntu-bug, before it decided to lock up my system again.

For once it'd be nice to be able to actually USE Ubuntu One in stead of constantly trying to debug it or let it lock up my system...

Should probably note that this was with Ubuntu 11.04. After removing everything from my account using the website, and installing Ubuntu 11.10, this problem has subsided somewhat. But for a program designed to constantly run in background I still think 80% averaging CPU usage is rather a lot.

Thanks for the report.
We are using bug #913912 as a master bug for high CPU usage, so I'm marking this as a duplicate.

i turned off the ubuntu one sync in start up but he starts to work on his own. It uses like 180-200 mb of ram, makes nautilus slow, rhythmbox sometimes freezes and it uses a lot of cpu. Not to mention that everytime i want to change things in the desktop, like wallpaper, the desktop settings freezes thanks to ubuntu one workin in ther background. even empathy gets slow and stops responding...
