The TV details from the sticker on the back:

Model: LN23R81BD
Model Code: LN23R81BDX/XAX
Type No.: BP23UO

According to the manufacturer[1] the "Optimum" resolution for the panel when plugged via HDMI is "1360 x 768 pixels".
After rebooting the laptop while the TV is on an plugged with the HDMI cable it eventually showed on "Displays" as "Samsung Electric Company 7"" and a resolution of "1280 x 720", this seems to happen with other Samsung models too[2].

Another problem is that no audio comes out of the TV even when "High Definition Audio Controller Digital Stereo (HDMI)" is selected under "Sound" > "Output".

Hey alex-mayorga,

Hi, thanks for reporting this issue during the development period of
Ubuntu.

I notice there's not been further comments to the bug report since the
release came out, would you mind updating us on the status of it in the
release?

Are you still able to reproduce the issue? If not, do you think the bug
report can be closed, or do you think we should continue tracking it?

Alex Mayorga, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-nouveau REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.
