Bug Description

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 beta 2 64 bit, on an ASUS K53E Laptop

The affected Compiz package is version 1:0.9.6+bzr20110929-0ubuntu1

I expected when my monitor plugged in for ubuntu to configure it correctly and extend the screen of my laptop.

What happened was ubuntu extended my screen, but my Unity UI disappeared for 10-15 seconds, after that, everything went back to normal and Apport reported that Compiz had crashed.

Is there any more information I need to provide?

This just happened to me with the latest set of packages for 11.10 beta. I don't think it has been fixed.

Weird. I haven't seen any oddities on my machine. So I can't reproduce.

Could you get a stack trace and should I reopen this bug?
