desktop background corruption in latest upgrade

Bug Description

Found my desktop looking crazy after latest Oneiric update. Apparently the background image is shifted down and right, leaving the top and left areas in a sort of weird render that leaves afterimages of closed/moved windows. See attached screenshot.

Workaround is to use Unity 2D for now :(
